TITLE Indonesia Fluvial Ecolexicon: A Study of the Decreation of Konaweeha Fluvial Ecolexicon |

ABSTRACT This study describes, deeply, the Konaweeha-fluvial lexicon and what caused its decrease. The examined data was the spoken language used by the Tolaki communityin their daily interaction. The data was gathered from alongside the area of Konaweeha drainage basin. The river is one of the largest river in South East Sulawesi andthe first settlement of Tolaki tribes. The data analysis refered to the one(data analysis) proposed Miles and Huberman. The colected Konaweeha-fluvial ecolexicon were in such aspects as: (a) basic nomina, (b) derivative nomina, and (c) verbal morphology system. The result of the study showed that the reason behindthe decreation of Konaweeha-fluvial ecolexicon were: (a) environment and culture, (b) mind set and behavior, (c) settlement pattern and life orientation, and (d) pattern of activities, consumption, and house building. Given the result, it was concluded that it is time for local languages, including Tolaki language, to be taken care and preservedin order to maintain Indonesian national properties and culture. It is important for a local language to keep because a lost of a local language is an impoverishment of the source of people knowledge and thoughts. |
