PDFAbstract: The sample size is a significant feature of any empirical study in which the goal is to make inferences about a population from a sample. In order to generalize from a random sample and avoid sampling errors or biases, a random sample needs to be of adequate size. This study presents a summary of how to calculate the survey sample size in social research and information system research.
