Abstract: This paper developed a methodology for the use of wavelets for the identification of impulse noise in the frequency range of the feedback network Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC), and a method for analyzing the energy spectrum. Networks (HFC) Cable television (CATV) has been established as an important infrastructure to provide interactive content and broadband access on the World Wide Web, Internet bandwidth. HFC networks are increasingly required in the aspects of quality and ability to carry digital signals due to the availability of transmission bandwidth and coverage in your service area and leave being only networks which television channels besides the noises that interfere with services provided by the operator. The impulsive noise in the frequency range of return becomes one of the main problems faced by operators, for his interference in carriers of Cable Modems (CM), because loss of information transmitted and even unavailability of services.
